Important Notices

12/3/2021

Dear BHS Beaumont Families,

This afternoon, I received a report that a student may have brought a weapon to school. The administration took immediate action, and learned that a student had an airsoft gun in a backpack. The device was confiscated and law enforcement officials were immediately notified.

We are pleased to report that the airsoft gun was not brandished at anyone and that no one was threatened with the device. And, when law enforcement arrived on campus, they checked the airsoft gun and informed the campus that the device was not operational.

The incident is still under investigation, and we will be fully cooperating with law enforcement officials. We will also be handling the incident under our Student Code of Conduct.

Please be assured that student safety and security are one of our top priorities. We are committed to responding promptly when we receive reports of possible weapons at school. If you have questions or concerns related to this notice, please feel free to contact the campus at (409) 983-3244, ext. 700.

We also ask that you partner with us to be sure that your students do not bring weapons or other prohibited devices to school. Again, our sincere desire is to keep our students, staff, and parents safe and secure while at school.

Sincerely,

Ms. Frances Bushnell
